FIBA Oceania Facilities Program

In 2011, the Board of FIBA Oceania approved the establishment of the FIBA Oceania Facilities Program (FOFP).

The aim of the program is to provide grants to assist National Federations to increase the availability of basketball facilities and essentail equipment and threby 'grow the game' and increase the number of players. FIBA Oceania will commit a minimum of $25,000 per year to the scheme and will seek to grow the FOFP pool of funds to $100,000 per year on an ongoing basis.

Grants will be available from a minimum of $500 to a maximum of $25,000AUD per year, and will be available to contruct new facilities or to improve existing facilities.  The FOFP grant cannot exceed 50% of the project cost. Due to the limited funds and their much stronger economies, Australia and New Zealand will be excluded from the FOFP.

Federations must be able to secure support from their government, National Olympic Committee and demonstrate sound development, management and maintenance plans to ensure an ongoing legacy for the sport of basketball.
