FIBA Oceania Award of Merit

In 2011, the FIBA Oceania Board approved a new award, open to all Federations in the Oceania zone, and awarded every 2 years.  Called the "FIBA Oceania Award of Merit" (FOAM), the award will be presented to the Federation who has made the most progress in growing and governing basketball in their country in the previous 2 years.

The winning Federation will receive a $5,000AUD contribution to use for equipment and development programs.  Consideration will be given to the population of the country and the number of paid staff in the Federation, ensuring that our expectations match the capabilities of the Federation.

The process for selecting the successful Federation will be:
1. The information contained in the Federation's Annual Report
2. Reports from the National Basketball Development Officers
3. Performance assessment from the FIBA Oceania staff
