National Basketball Development Officers have beeb appointed in Tonga and Kiribati.

Over the past few months, FIBA Oceania staff, Regan Kama and Ryan Burns,  have been working closely with the Basketball Federations and National Olympic Committees of Tonga and Kiribati to appoint National Basketball Development Officers in each country.

Through a financial partnership with the Kiribati and Tonga NOC's, two NBDO's have now commenced duties.

Loleini Ostling is the new Tongan NBDO.  Born and raised in the USA, Loleini moved permanently to her mother's country of Tonga some years ago, and has been heavily involved in reviving basketball in Tonga.  At just 24 years of age, Loleini has been a long-time coach and referee, and has excellent administration skills.

The new NBDO in Kiribati is 27 year olda Iotia Tatireta, a former National player who attended the SPG's in 2003, and who has been an active member of the Kiribati Federation executive for the past 3 years.

Iotia has his level 1 FIBA Oceania coaching certificate, and regularly referees in the local competitions.

Welcome to the FIBA Oceania family, and we look forward to working closely with you to help develop basketball in Tonga and Kiribati.
